I would like to say, I have been apart of the EMS family over 15 years, Yes, the squads do run abit over the speed limit, it is a necessary part of the job. When a family member of yours is laying in the floor needing emergency care, or is traumatized in a accident you need an ambulance now not later. On several occasions during my many transports in Huntington and surrounding areas, it was very difficult to treat a patient in the squad, the provider in the back working on your family member is unrestrained, he or she is thrown side to side ad front to back, this usually happens when motorist do not yield to the right and allow the ambulance pass. I was one of the crazy EMS people, I did my job as well as my partner, I loved it, Medics and EMTS are not in it for the money, they are in it because they care! To my Ole'EMS Family I love you all, take care, and don't forget to laugh!
