HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Marshall University faculty senate members completed the first step to impeach faculty senate president Cam Brammer.
The first step was to get signatures and though that is completed, they still have a long road ahead of them.
Some of the senators are unhappy with the way they say she has treated the grade change investigation involving West Virginia State Treasurer John Perdue’s daughter Emily.
They say Brammer has dragged her feet and there has not been much progress.
“If the faculty senate had been doing its job, had the leadership been carrying forward the unrest when the news broke, rather than just wait and wait and wait, we wouldn’t be here, but we have to move forward with this and we have to do it in a timely manner,” said Former Faculty Senate VP Dallas Brozik.
So far, 10 members of the senate have signed the petition, which was enough to get it going, but they are not sure how the rest will vote.
The next meeting to work on the impeachment process will take place on Monday.

AT least at WVU when the situation of special treatment was exposed the Faculty Senate stepped up to the plate and supported the faculty and academic integrity. what is wrong with MU's faculty senate?
Absolutey fire Templeton. The COEHS has been a mess since she got there. More grievances than any other administrator. What is it going to take for the University to get rid of her. However, if you look at what Faculty Senate has done in the matter, and they are supposed to represent the faculty and faculty issues, they have done nothing.
Dave Benton should be ashamed. This is one of the most blatant misrepresentations of journalistic freedom I have seen. First, the faculty senate did not ask to impeach Chair Brammer, a faculty member did. The signatures were said to be signatures of faculty, not senators. The items was not tabled until it could be dealt with Monday, but would be dealt with at a later meeting. The video showing Dr. Mitchell speaking was not even related to this matter, but in regards to a celebration of learning and academics at the university. As a person who was at the meeting and who saw the news, I have lost a great deal of respect for professional journalism and especially Mr. Benton and his creative liberties. Way to make what I see as an undermining gesture from a faculty member look like the governing body of the faculty has turned against its elected leader.
