Officials to Share Proposals to Update West Virginia Taxes
State tax officials are prepared to share their proposals on how to update and modernize four areas of West Virginia's tax system.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - State tax officials are prepared to share their proposals on how to update and modernize four areas of West Virginia's tax system.

Members of the West Virginia Tax Modernization Project will share their ideas and seek public input on them during a three-hour meeting in Charleston on Friday.

While the project's overall goal is to update West Virginia's tax system, project members have focused on four areas of the tax code.

The areas are telecommunications, tax credits for senior citizens, personal income taxes for low-income residents and taxes paid on property, interest and other assessments.

The proposed changes are expected to be presented to the Legislature next session.

I'm sure the're looking at collecting more money, but where will it come from! If this is a tax raise from the average working taxpayer, its past time this group of people gets out to vote! Take your friends, family and neighbors with you. This is time to quit playing games and going with the promises of the incumbents. Ask yourself how did we get to where we are now?

Pucker up. They are meeting, while the people who pay the taxes are working, to find a way to get more of MY money. Oh well, that's the last $15 I had anyway.
