MARIETTA, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Friday in Marietta, the W.P. Snyder Jr. will begin a historic voyage down the Muskingum and Ohio rivers.

The 91-year-old Snyder, a National Historic Landmark, is the last remaining steam-powered sternwheel towboat in existence.

The towboat is being taken to the McGinnis shipyard in South Point, Ohio, for a new hull.

The boat is owned by the Ohio Historical Society and normally docked at the Ohio River Museum in Marietta.

The Snyder has not operated under her own power since she arrived in Marietta on September 16, 1955.

Moving the 342-ton, 175-foot-long boat is a challenge and a spectacle, which starts by hand-turning open the Harmar Railroad Bridge in Marietta so the boat can pass.

The 146-mile trip should end sometime Friday night in South Point.

Replacing the hull is expected to take about eight months. The cost of the entire project will be $1.5 million.

The Yell: Comments for the Week of 1/31
  • Posted By: Keith's wifeBluebird, The comment to show my support for my husband was not meant to offend you in any way. I am very proud of him for his efforts to learn all the truths that he possibly can, and to then share his information with others to help them. I, along with his children, are very aware of how wise he is. We live with him on a daily basis and see how he conducts himself, not only at home, but also in the public. I am his number one supporter as he is mine. I am very blessed. You can choose to be mean if you like, but if you notice Keith and I will not turn nasty to retaliate against people on here. Sorry to have hurt your feelings. Mrs. Keith
  • Posted By: BluebirdI doubt that. I think Keith is too smart to have a wife who would do such a cheesy thing. I think you are the same as "hmmm" and I think both are Jeannie. Never the less, the yell is for all who WSAZ approves. Feel free to join in. Keith is very wise in politics and the yell needs that wisdom, which is all I am asking for as well. Don't like me? Don't read my posts. Isn't that easy?
  • Posted By: buckWell I see the link I posted for has already been put on here. And Miner49er I highly doubt your a miner, or for that matter very American, but you are one of those who likes to start trouble. It seems you take up for Obama when he is the one wanting clean coal. That means no coal. Ya just don't sound like ya have a full deck and speak/type w/o thinking about what your spewing out or taking in.
  • Posted By: Keith...welcome home Vietnam Veterans...Thank you Veitnam Vets, God's special blessing to you all. I believe history has shown us you were right; your sacrifices rank with any American soldiers in any war. Lets look at fact: After we left SE Asia, under incredible pressure from the Treasonous political Left in the USA, i.e., the Jane Fondas, the media, SDS, the hippie Bill Ayers types, etc...only God knows how many were murdered by the Communists from Hanoi. The entire region went into slavery and poverty. When confronted with the choice of living in an Uncle Ho-inspired paradise or boarding a rickety boat and heading to sea, thousands went to sea, and many tragically died. Who knows what kind of a prosperous, free, thriving society Vietnam might be today, if the Left had supported the US soldier instead of spitting on them; perhaps the equal of S. Korea, or Japan, or Germany. Hats off to you WW2 vets too, for freeing the Philippines from imperial Japan. Every free breath we breathe we owe to US service personnel; GBU; GBA.
  • Posted By: FrozenWe got four more inches of "global warming" last night and expecting 3-4 more tonight. I wish ol Al Gore would get Bushs weather machine turned off.
  • Posted By: buck to minerLOL Last time I was there we were not allowed to have Bibles, or if we did keep them out of sight. We gave Kuwait back. They still blasted our towers, we went back again to defend. I don't see the issue. We buy our oil from them which by the way is costin us a lot. Once again where is the issue. Furthermore I said we need to bring the troops back home, lock up our borders, trade/buy on our terms, leave them alone. If we are stealing the oil then why do they get gas and diesel back from us. So what is your beef and why the name calling. Everyone you mentioned asked for our help in one way or another. So how am I an idiot.
  • Posted By: miner49erBuck, you are such an idiot! You sad "We as Americans do not go to other countries and insert our way of life. If we did we would be shot, killed, or jailed." What are 140,000 armed US soldiers doing in Iraq? It's a war of lies, it's all about stealng Iraq's oil, using US soldiers as a corporate army. Just like we have in the Philippines, Lebanon, Vietnam, Haiti, Panama, etc.
  • Posted By: buckI have had the same thing happen to me. From the looks of other posts though we aren't the only ones.
  • Posted By: bob3. You could have heard a pin drop as the Imam hung his head in shame. Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of the Diversification training seminar were not happy with my way of dealing with the Islamic Imam, and exposing the truth about the Muslims' beliefs. In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in the U.S. to elect the President!
  • Posted By: bob3. He sheepishly replied, 'Yes.' I then stated, 'Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine Pope John Paul commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or Dr. Stanley ordering all protestants to do the same in order to guarantee them a place in heaven!' The Imam was speechless! I continued, 'I also have a problem with being your friend when you and your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me! Let me ask you a question: Would you rather have your Allah, who tells you to kill me in order for you to go to heaven, or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am going to heaven and He wants you to be there with me?'
  • Posted By: bob2. 'Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world and, that by killing an infidel, (which is a command to all Muslims) they are assured of a place in heaven. If that's the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?' There was no disagreement with my statements and, without hesitation, he replied, 'Non-believers!' I responded, 'So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can have a place in heaven. Is that correct?' The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of a little boy who had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.'
  • Posted By: bob1. This is a true story and the author, Rick Mathes, is a well-known leader in prison ministry. The man who walks with God always gets to his destination. If you have a pulse you have a purpose. The Muslim religion is the fastest growing religion per capita in the United States, especially in the minority races!!! Last month I attended my annual training session that's required for maintaining my state prison security clearance. During the training session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who explained each of their beliefs. I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The Imam gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a video. After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers. When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Imam and asked:
  • Posted By: Keith's wifeBluebird, you are not his number one fan. I am! Glad you enjoy the yell so much.
  • Posted By: jam6972Keith, my friend, you are right about George W. Bush, I must have misunderestimated him ! And,...I did not vote for him, but I also did not cut him down at every opportunity, he was OUR president, and I supported him.
  • Posted By: BluebirdCraveontruth, there are several stories on BBC about GM food. I am still studying that somewhat strange idea.
  • Posted By: NashmanBuck: I'm with you! Get our soldiers home, secure our borders, trade only with those who will trade on our terms & get back to minding our own business. I wrote the same thing on The Yell a few weeks ago and they never did post it.
  • Posted By: BluebirdYes! This is what we need! There is plenty we can do until November. Get ideas and be prepared. Discuss the important issues. No matter which side you are on, you can help others by showing what things need fixed and give your reasons so others can see why you feel that way and can make informed decisions. I am fairly new to the political discussion. I depend on hearing what others have to say. Then I can decide if it makes sense. Many of us are like that. Share what you learn with others so when we can do something we are prepared. If everyone thought alike, there would be only one party. There are never wrong ideas, just differing. Discuss, discuss. All good posts today! Thanks to all.

  • Posted By: buckWhat does it take to define a leader? Washington seems to think money and degrees from Ivy League schools. We have so many people out there who have the ability to lead so very well but with no money or connections they will NEVER get a chance. There is so much division and no loyalty within our own boundaries. Americans are hurting because we aren't coming together as Americans. So many people want to come here and then institute their way of life and we have let them. So much so that it is killing us. We as Americans do not go to other countries and insert our way of life. If we did we would be shot, killed, or jailed. Why doesn't that happen here. Last I checked we are America not ameristan, ameripan, americhina, ameriatina, ameriarussia, ameriaeast etc. Bring our troops home, shut down our borders, arm our borders, and mind our own business. We buy, sell, trade on our terms or not at all. That is all.

  • Posted By: buckI just/heard one of the sickest things in my life. Obama gives this lady /no name mentioned, props for fighting breast cancer while working on his campaign. She could not afford what was needed and finally passed away from it. Now him in all his glory goes on to say she requested to buried in an Obama T-shirt. That is so self-rightous. Its always I I I I I I, me me me me me me. I would think the least he could of done is pay for her treatments if he thought so much of her.
  • Posted By: KeithI understand and commend you for all the hard work with your family. Realistically, there is not much we can do until November. Until then it is simply a matter of survival; Obama, by the 7 month/20 day rule, now owns the terror issue; giving terrorists rights under our constitution, wasting hundreds of millions that could go to soup kitchens for show trials in NYC, reading Miranda rights to the underwear bomber, yes, AG Holder actually made them do that; on the economy, still nothing being done to help; still pushing the Obamacare disaster; Gallup reports 80% disapprove of the liberal congress; it is only a matter of time until O, Nancy and Harry own this issue too, especially with a projection of 9.8% unemployment by years end, and Obama piling more onto the debt in one year than Bush did in 8; the Census should provide some temporary relief for jobs, but when it expires, what helps then? Spend more, tax more, push disastrous bills nobody wants; I hope we can hang on until November.

  • Posted By: BluebirdAs Dad's caretaker, I have heard plenty of Rush, especially as my brother gets Rush 24/7. And I go often and read Rush.(Try.)He gets stuck on these non issues. There is nothing wrong with enjoying Rush but don't let it cloud all else. Thank you for saying "all people with challenges". I agree on that. I just did not want the word synonymous to one group. I am not cynical, just hurt. I have been your no.1 fan. But you have quit talking important issues. Our country is in real trouble. Wise men can fix it. But they are too stuck on this kind of politics. We need solutions. How many days can we go on about the misquote of Corps? What crisis will these things fix? You did not even reply about the real issue of Obama saying the people were disappointed because the reps were not delivering for him. Our country is being hijacked by politicians and no one seems to care. Our country is being bankrupted and people who can make a difference are too busy name calling to find solutions. As usual.
  • Posted By: JimBluebird sometimes you have to arrive at the conclusion that some people just will never understand right from wrong and no amount of explaining will ever open their eyes, they believe they are saving people who do not need or want to be saved from other unknowning people.I know where your coming from and it is sad that people dont understand why you would be upset when Sarah grouped children with downs syndrome with the r word but like you said she either demonstrated that she has not done research and is ignorant to the issue or she is so politically motivated that she could care less whether her child is labeled or not. This is a child that she is suppose to love and protect at all cost and if she would subject her own child to this then how are we to believe that she would really have any kind of agenda for health care and research for others children. Would her plan be to just label everyone into a group of one size fits all for diseases, disabilities or sickness.
  • Posted By: Keith....Bluebird, I have no idea where you are coming fromThere is absolutely no slander coming from me. I admire folks who stand up for all who have challenges, regardless of whether or not the challenge is personal, folks like the father, Sarah, Rush...The person responsible here is Rahm Emmanuel. You seem like you are really cynical right now, ascribing the worst motives to all involved when you simply do not know what the motives were. I never called you a liberal; I did mention "Labels." As for Sarah, I think she should use a teleprompter, even when she goes out to speak to 12 year olds. It would be especially helpful when she campaigns in all 57 states speaking to all the "Corpse-men" in the audience. You do not listen to Rush, you get your information second hand. I do listen; I heard him announce to all that he was going to use the word, it is common for him, he quoted Harry Reid as well, to illustrate that once again, a liberal democrat slanders, just like AlGore's "Extra Chromosome" remark; Obama's Special Olympics joke, etc...
  • Posted By: Try ThisOk I just had to weigh in since I see the are introducing a bill to do away with the R word so what are they going to replace it with handicap and how long will it be before all handicapped people are complaining because they are being grouped. Disabled do you think that will work, maybe special.People should think before they jump on some band wagon just to make noise, how much good will it do if they do away with all labels and consider everyone equal with no special treatment or funding for anything not considered the norm.God forbid they stop all research and funding because they dont know how to write it up for fear of not being political correct and hurting someones feelings. The R word is used in 1000's of bills and documents for funding and research so how do the politicans hope to make this work without it.Seems as good of way as any to waste more tax dollars doing a study for 3 or 4 yrs to figure this out and you can bet someone will come up with that idea also
  • Posted By: Patriot1Do not pay attention to anything that is written on the Huffington Post. They twist the truth every way they can. Anyone that doesn't share their point of view is demonized. If you are looking for the truth, you will not find it at the Huffington Post.
  • Posted By: BluebirdI can name 3 conservatives slandering-Rush, Sarah and Keith. Of course, I don't have a big TV appearance so I don't count, right? We only have Sarah's word there was a father complaining and he most likely was a follower of hers. She wants to be president, so of course she will use people to further that. The organization? Political also. But don't take my word, I am just a parent who should know. You want to see into your future? My dad lived to listen to Rush. He died an angry bitter man. Real people around him could not say anything worthwhile to hear. They were unimportant. Only thing that mattered was waiting to hear Rush again. In the end, of a large family, I was the only one who would go near him. I poured my heart out to show you what a person not motivated by politics felt, but it means nothing. Only makes me a liberal in your book because I disagree with you and Rush. And "Hmmm", it took all of 5 minutes maybe to post. I assure you my children did not suffer. Thanks, Jim.
  • Posted By: JimPoor Keith lets talk being caught red handed or answers handed seems as if maybe McCains people did know what they were doing by not letting Sarah speak. Its hard to answer questions when there not staged and you dont know the questions so you can write down the answers in your hand but that happens when you have no clue on answering issues questions.Still a little better than coming up with a Bushism but then again seeing Russia from her back door is close. What I will never understand is why the conservatives or the liberals think they can fool people with their half truths and expect people to believe them and telling lies just to plant doubt then recanting down the road after the damage is done then expect to be voted for.As for Rush he did use the r word before this incident with no outrage from Palin or others and when asked about it she lashed out about anyone who would use the word but called Rush and said she didn't use his name so dont be mad check the story huffington post
  • Posted By: Big EarlHello good WV people this is Big Earl did any of you people watch that show on the TV the other day about a bunch of cavemen what crossed paths 2 billion years ago and started fighting and no you hippies they were not from the Gieco and Alstate tribes they called them Neanderthaw and Crow Magnons this man talking sounded shocked they didn’t like each other sort of like when somebody from the McCoy side of the river snuck over onto the Hatfield side what do you expect would happen they beat each other over the head with clubs you could tell this was a bunch of hippies they filmed them they never cut there hair lived in communes and caves with no heat never took a bath neither I bet they grew dope to that man couldn’t figure out why there skulls was only the size of a grapefruit well figure it out.
  • Posted By: Keith...no, Jim, it won't, and you couldn't be more wrong...I give credit to the father, and mother, of children with Downs; to the national organization, for standing up for ALL; for thinking that an attack on one, even if it is not their own, is an attack on ALL; thank goodness there are still folks willing to do that. Remember the story from WW2? They came for the Catholics, the Jews, the gypsies, the homosexuals, I said nothing; when they came for me, there was nobody left to help? I cannot read their minds, you cannot either, I ascribe good motives to them, not crass exploitation. ONCE AGAIN, a liberal democrat, caught red handed, slandering. NOT A CONSERVATIVE. Why? Always a liberal. As for Rush, he announced to the world he was going to take Rahm and Harry's words, and use them, to illustrate their ignorance and bring attention to them. Even when he told the media, they still (agenda driven) run to the camera and say Rush was the author of the words. Blind leading the blind. Hey, hats off to all Navy "Corpse-Men" serving the country.
  • Posted By: JimTo hey wsaz you want answers well here you go Palin is the reason that anyone had anything to say about downs syndrome and it was totally out of line for her to say anything she is the one grouping downs syndrome with what Emmanuel said, she is under the gun for not saying a word about Rush using the r word and it is this double standard on her part that will cost her, that and using her childs condition for political gain but she's done that before and continues to everyday wth her unwed teen mother daughter and using her influence in the custody battle will really help her when it comes to gaining the vote from fathers that have been screwed over by the system.See she might have had a chance in the upcoming presidential elections if she ran but she is self imploding before our very eyes.Give her another year and all the Republicans will be distanting themselves from her completely
  • Posted By: to pcWell if there had been a muslim at the tea party spouting ignorance I would have brought it up,but these were Americans or so I was led to believe. You sound pretty racist to me not all terrorist are Muslims[ie Tim McVeigh}{christian} and not all Muslims are terrorist[ie Kareem Abdul Jabbar}.You would serve yourself some good by researching before you speak.
  • Posted By: hmmmI'm not on here much, but from what I've read it seems that some like keith and bluebird spend all of their time on this site. Seems like someone like that should be taking care of their kids instead of blabbering on arguing like that especially at certain times of the month.
  • Posted By: DoobieKernoodleSeveral years ago in the Town of Belle my wife and I needed a new walk from our front porch to the street, we decided to do it ourselves and were stopped by the police saying we needed a work permit. This is something that should apply to all citizens of Belle. I noticed a big job down on Gardner Ave. being done at the old Maytag place and I think they should have to have a work permit too. It's discriminatory if they don't. Let's get it together Town of Belle.
  • Posted By: BluebirdSame reason you did. POLITICS to all three questions. Most of us are adults. We know who the rude man was talking to and what he was implying-they were acting illogical. He was vulgar and it was unacceptable in our leaders, especially. But he did not have in mind Down Syndrome. Did not mention it.The ones who do are saying "oh,he used the R word, he must be meaning Down Syndrome." Surely you can see that is offensive. And again, labels. I am not a liberal. I am an American who mostly follows conservative lines but do not like dirty politics nor mud slinging. If a candidate cannot use honesty to be elected, I don't want them. I am not going to vote on the basis of how many they have knocked out of the ring. I want to hear what they intend to do for US, and their past actions have to show that.I have already stated I intend to vote against the current occupants. I want leaders who represent Americans. And will listen to us.AND WSAZ has been refusing my replies as well, which is their right.

  • Posted By: BluebirdKeith, I apologize to you and WSAZ and to anyone else who reads the Yell. I should not have taken it so personal. The "Labels" post was mine. You have to know the heartbreak of seeing your child suffer so many things through no fault of his own to understand. Sometimes you are the only advocate they have and it is still not enough. They are made fun of, but bless their hearts, they don't understand it and smile through it all. They take what life throws at them and go right on loving everyone. If I did not fight for him, he would not be here. I guess it becomes a habit of fighting for them and sometimes the pain gets so great we jump on a fly. But I would not trade him for a million healthy children. Again, I am sorry. I am having a tough time seeing him suffer and am overly sensitive right now. I will take a break from the yell. Sometimes, Keith you are insensitive, but what would the yell be without you? We would have nothing to yell about. Just kidding. ;)
  • Posted By: Hey WSAZ, a suggestionSince we never know when we send a post in if it will actually be posted, how about some guidelines. Lopsided debates are no fun. What do you want, one a day, one per week, etc...when things get really fired up, the Yell is a great feature and we could have a roaring debate on here, which I think is great, good for you guys too, but it would have to be regularly updated and sometimes I know that is apparently difficult. Since there seems to be an overwhelming liberal to conservative ratio on here, and you run about 10 liberal posts to every conservative, lets even it out. Scroll down the page-we have Labels, Morons, Carveon, Anon, Jam, Anon, Jim, Roane Co, etc... for example, I have sent in three posts asking a simple question, why did the National Downs Syndrome Society publish a letter to Rahm Emmanuel about his comments; why did a father of a child with Downs take offense; why did Sarah Palin, mother of a child with Downs, take offense??? Answers, PLEASE????????????????????

  • Posted By: Keith...any chance...That you will post what I sent in? I mean it is 6 to 1.
  • Posted By: KeithYes, thanks!

  • Posted By: LabelsWSAZ, why are you blocking me? My child has had open heart surgery, yet he is not a "broken heart child". He has Down Syndrome, but is not a "Down's child". He has developmental delays, yet he is not a "R" child. Keith and not Rahm, labeled him that. And now my child is fighting for life again with cancer, yet he is not a "cancer child". He is just a child, like any of yours but happens to have a rougher life. He is so special that any one who is around him can't get enough and want to take him home with them. He fills everyone around him with happiness and he does not deserve these ugly labels! And now Keith is saying we are all liberals and inbred to boot because he can but you won't print me?
  • Posted By: Tea Party{Morons}I just attended my first and last tea party {forum} some but not all of these people are rabid some of the nonsense that is coming out of these peoples mouths borderes on treason. These people have a much worse mentality than anyone from Ruby Ridge or Waco combined I heard talk of assasination attempts racism running amock, many of these folks could be charged as enemy combatants under the patriot act.If this is the kind of change they want for our country then count me out this will lead to a total police or military state or at the very least a civil war.Talk of stock piling arms so the dems cant take them so they will be able to take the fight to them when the time is right. These people have lost all touch with reality stand around and chant Rush Rush and Sarah Sarah, not once did I hear a word about any issues of how to fix health care or create jobs, more about how Obama wouldn't dare fight back for fear of public backlash for calling troops against them,Govt ripe for the picking
  • Posted By: CraveontruthPoor Keith.I can't believe it! Poor,poor Keith.Why?
  • Posted By: BluebirdI was afraid my comment was not P.C. so I will try again. Keith, that kind of politics is not attractive. It does more harm than good. I do not like Rahm Emmanuel's remark. But I am more disappointed in the ones who picked it up and threw it at Down Syndrome, automatically sticking the label to them. I don't know who started it. It is painful, I have told you that and still you continue. My child is one of the sunniest parts of my life and I have NEVER associated that word to him and I resent those who do. And they are not a "Down's child". They are children who happen to have Down Syndrome. I have agreed with you on most topics that are real issues. But I have basically ignored your "people" attacks. I was wrong to do so because it eventually hit me. I do not care who spoke out about the remark making it refer to Down Syndrome, it is wrong. And bad politics. And we all know two wrongs do not make a right. And it shows what you think about these children. :(
  • Posted By: It makes no sense to reply to Kieth or many of his pards on here(truth be known he probably posts under other names so it looks like more share his view)he is set in his mind, doesn't realize the people he follows are not patriots, but they are racists and bigots so thier comments make him happy. He will never be a person who will care for others just because they to are humans,or realize that to really be free you must allow others to be free in living thier life.
  • Posted By: To KeithI have to wonder if you were really offended by the remark or the fact that it was made by a democrat much like Palin,yo have never heard her chastise Rush and he has used the R word guess him being a repub makes it alright to her.Typical politics if you cant come up with anything worth while then find fault in others
  • Posted By: Keith...well you said it Jam, not me...There has to be an element of truth in humor for it to be funny; go back to Genesis, go back to Appalachian history, it happened. The difference is, Cheney's intent was not to take a group of people who could not defend themselves, (Downs Syndrome, "R" folks) disparage them, and use them to insult folks who can, as was quite ably demonstrated by the various reactions of WV. Emmanuel's true feelings about defenseless people came out as an insult toward his liberal pals. Granted, he apologized, but so did Cheney. Speaking of, I read where a father of a Downs Syndrome child was offended by Emmanuel's comments, he, as a father, apparently applied Rahm's words towards all who face challenges; contacted Sarah Palin, mother of a Downs child, who publicly excoriated Rahm; the National Downs Syndrome Society published a public letter to Emmanuel, (Why?) voicing their offense to his comments; what I don't understand is, why is anybody upset at anyone besides Rahm Emmanuel in this entire episode?

The Board of Education members, the former Superintendent, the County Accounting person, and anyone else who authorized spending funds WITHOUT MAKING SURE the money was there before spending the money. Don't let them get away with it!

  • Posted By: BluebirdI have no idea who Arianna is. I think there is not a place in government for profanity from anyone. Or name calling. Where I take issue is relating that horrid remark to a particular group,i.e Down Syndrome. I am hurt by it when it should not be directed at my child or anyone's. It was profanity, plain and simple. I find no humor in it. America is full of sewer mouths. He did not make me cry. It was the ones who linked the profanity to special needs children. But let's talk issues. On the same day this uproar started, our president made a comment that I have heard no one complain about. He stated that the people were upset because the representatives were not "delivering for me". Our reps are suppose to deliver for US. They are elected by us, to represent us. And they are not listening to us, as our president is not listening. Where is the outrage over this REAL issue? People are too busy stuck on non issues, that is why there is no outrage. Making tongues at each other like kids.
  • Posted By: Keith...well, Arianna said it was a done deal...So it is, now everyone forget it. Rahm apologized, groveled, etc...now the generous, kind liberals among us are more than willing to let it all fade away. Not so fast. Remember Senator George Allen of VA, who said a word, "Macaca" that nobody could even define, and was hung out to dry for it? The point is, liberals ALWAYS get a pass; this illustrates it perfectly. Why no self righteous, indignant, outraged calls from the most concerned man in American, Tom Daschle, for Emmanuel to resign? If Karl Rove had said this all hell would break loose. Overlooked here is the humorous aspect of the whole fiasco. Rahm directed this profane fusillade at LIBERALS who had come to visit, to express displeasure over the lack of success in forcing Obamacare on a public that clearly does not want it. Does anyone see the irony here? Liberals are the ones in America who make racist comments, pick on the helpless, etc...and apparently Obama and Co. don't think much of YOU liberals either.

  • Posted By: JimBluebird you are so right everyone needs to move on and focus on the real issues and for Palin to use her childs issues on any point other than maybe making sure that health care is a subject that stays on everybodysmind is just plain wrong and in my eyes borders on abuse. But then some people have an agenda and will stop at nothing to acheive that agenda and that is truely sad.As a father of a child diagnosed with adhd I could never think of broadcasting my childs issues for my own gain but if it would help in bringing the issues to light to help others in understanding and accepting these wonderful kids in a positive way yes make and issue of RE remarks but for political reasons is just absurd
  • Posted By: rush or bayhar....i dont watch the show bayhar is on,just flip thru occasionally.she is a rabid pro death abortion believer.but she think you cant believe that tebow is a good roll model for life and a mothers unselfish love.after all she said he could as well been a child rapist etc.but maybe some of these slaughtered unborn babies maybe would have saved children, found a cure for some illness, done many good and heroic things.probably most would have been ordinary decent citizens.we,re certainly going to need the tax dollars they would have paid to keep this country afloat.we dont believe what rush believes...for the most part he believes what we believe...he just brings facts to the equasion.but not only does he know more than the smartest man, obama he brings out the facts and videos in obamas own words.i dont, rush doesnt pronounce the word corpse for corp.duh.bet his teleprompter spells words out next time like you do second graders.corpse,core,corp.
  • Posted By: Bluebird (Parent of Child with Down Syndrome)ENOUGH! Both words used by R.E.were profanity in a sense. However, neither had anything to do with Down Syndrome and I am very offended by the comparison. If S.Palin made a link to that comment with her child, she either has not come to terms with her child's uniqueness or using him as a political pawn and it is sad either way. It is my understanding the word used ended with "ed", not an "S" so was not name calling, however ugly it was. To link it to Down Syndrome is wrong! A child with Down Syndrome may be slower in academics than their peers, but may excel in other areas, and always excel in the area of love. Mine can do many things his older "normal" sibling cannot do. We can learn a lot from these special children. I recommend you get to know some. But please leave them out of this political fray! This kind of politics needs to stop. Keep with the REAL issues that are destroying our country and stop with the mud slinging. Words will not bring our country down. Foolishness will.
  • Posted By: Keith, yes Roane county but isn't it a pityThat Rush (and Glenn and Sean) is the only place you hear about what Rahm Emmanuel said? Truth is, if Karl Rove had said that, it would be plastered on every newspaper in the country, non-stop on the TV, etc...just like when somebody says (3 times) "Navy Corpse-men," geez it is so nice to have a president who can actually speak and put a sentence together. Is it appropriate to make fun of disabled people? Is it ok to poke fun at Special Olympians, as Obama did, just because he cannot bowl? Or maybe like AlGore, making fun of Downs Syndrome folks. How do you guys feel about that? Do you thing the public should know when it happens? Listen to Rush, he will help you; and you do need help. How does it feel to know what your guy really thinks of you...the two names Emmanuel called the liberals who came calling on Barry about Obamacare. How does it feel? Club Gitmo? Still open. Troops in Iraq and Afghanistan? Still there. Jobs? Where? Terrorists still fighting? Yes. Economic plans? NONE.

  • Posted By: BluebirdDon't feel bad, Keith. I was censored for commenting on the same story. I guess it is a touchy subject. But it is the right of WSAZ, so I am not offended. I just back up a bit and realize I need to give others a chance. Thank you WSAZ for the chance to Yell. As for the other "censored" post, you will find your post on the previous week. I think someone forgot to change to a new week on Sunday and the yell was getting quite long. They finally changed it to the correct week. We act like this is all they have to do. They are a news channel first. :)
  • Posted By: Keith...ok, Censor, I give up...I have defended WSAZ when people come on here and say the station censors their comments and are PC; unfortunately I may not be able to do that anymore. Apparently someone at the station needs a spine transplant, or is a liberal, doing as liberals do, censoring differing opinions and truth. I am referring to the comments made by the President's Chief of Staff, Rahm Emmanuel, when he insulted developmentally challenged folks by referring to a group of liberals aggravating Obama about health care, calling them the "F" word and the "R" word. (Isn't it pathetic in America, we can't say some words? Wimpy enough for you?) Google "Rahm Emmanuel apology" to find out what he said. The comments were made last August and Sarah Palin called him on his incredible rudeness and forced an apology. What's up? Do you guys protect this bunch now too? IF it is an oversight, and you have simply missed my THREE posts, apologies in advance. Get with it, it is an incredible wimp who censors comments.
  • Posted By: KathyI was at the WVU-Pitt game last night, and granted the WVU students were out of line. I say ban them from a couple of games, or do like they did at the football games, and move them to the upper deck. Dont let them close to the players or coaches. But, we all know WSAZ is jumping all over this because of the"rivalry" with good old MU. When the Mountaineers came to H-town a couple of years ago, The so called "F-Bomb was plastered all up and down 6th and 7th Ave. on white sheets with Big Green Letters. So, just remember, there are students and fans with bad language and bad behavior at all universities. This is not an isolated incident that happens only in Morgantown. I am sad that I went to watch my favorite college team play and have been dubbed a bad fan with what happened out of a few students. Be fair WSAZ!!
  • Posted By: BOYDOnce again West Virginias are made to look like fools to the rest of the nation. WVU students should be proud to keep up the tradition that everyone else is trying to get rid of. If students can not behave themselves they should be banned from the game. Also the Governor should apologize to the other team, the people who watched the game and to all West Virginians for these students actions. I love West Virginia and her people but it seems our students have less regard for their actions and our beautiful state and people. Thanks WVU
  • Posted By: TrustPeople need to get the facts straight on the Toyota problems, please read the facts. I am tired of hearing such false stories and accusations about the cars in questions. First off. The cars do not just accelerate on their own. Stop being dumb. Just as Toyota claimed that the accelerator MAY or may not return to the idle position when you take your foot off of the pedal. But the way people like Vanessa that clearly made up her story just to get on the news. All I ask is that people please get the facts before making your final assumptions. I own a Toyota just as well and will continue to own one until the day I die, because every car has its small problem and I have found that Toyota fixes those problems and hides nothing. Thank you and drive safe.

America has been killing Moslems for 100 years, look at the massacres of Moslim womem and children during our colonial conquest of the Phillipines. Why did we kill 994 Moslims on Jolo Island in 1906, they had never attacked the USA. We're the terrorists!!!
  • Posted By: MicheleI believe it may be time to move the student section for all games as far away from the field/court as possible. When the students decide to grow up and act their age, maybe they could be moved back. I think the way these students act, it may even be useful to ban them from games for a while.
  • Posted By: NashmanRe: Toyota Issues - I like Toyotas - I've owned them and they are good cars. After all is investigated, it would not surprise me if all the problems boil down to an issue with computer chips. In 1984, I had new a 6 cyl. Ford Mustang. One day after starting the car, letting it warm up and shifting from park to drive, the car took off! My foot was not on the gas! I had to put both feet and all my weight on the brake to control it. The tires were spinning and smoking right there in the driveway! This lasted for a minute or so, then the RPM's decreased and I was able to shift the car back to park and promptly called the dealership. They fixed it & said it was a bad computer chip. Once fixed, I never had any more problems, but that was certainly scary and I had the tire marks to prove it. This again, was in 1984. 2010 is probably no different. I wish they still made cars that the average Joe could work on - sans computer chips. I hope they solve the Toyota mystery issue soon.

  • Posted By: buck to a year laterSo how much longer are we Americans going to let other countries make us write new laws. Its happening in our security, discriminatory laws, religion, oil, money, import/export, borders etc. We Americans can’t do anything without p/c being part of the problem. It stems from other countries. The black/white issue doesn’t even compare to what China and the radical muslims are gonna put us through. Its coming if we don’t pull together as Americans, pull together as one. If we keep letting the govt. create the divide (and there is a division) we are in trouble. The govt. keeps crying racism exists still today. Of course it does when illegal immigrants and other countries religions cry discrimination. It exists within govt. itself. Remember the candidates tried to appeal to specific races. Geez that was all over the news.
  • Posted By: buck to a year laterChina is our bank. Taking God out. Taking prayer out of schools. Radical muslims dictate our security issues. Illegal immigrants are making the American black & white the minority. Which by the way there is talk of giving illegal immigrants amnesty so as to create a progressive long term election bid(worldnetdaily). Islam is becoming the major religion. Our military soldiers are being criminalized(navy seals, cia). The enemy gets their day in our court. Americans are made to pay a price for the radical muslim actions. I could go on. So you two boneheads is this current enough? Or is your head where it doesn't belong. You keep it there long enough it will be to late for anyone to say I old ya so. You will be there before you know it therefore making it a mute point. I see so many people here making the case and the rebuttal is always it seems,in other words paranoia. Paranoia can be described as a mental illness or a high state of awareness. Ignorance and fear mean exactly that.
  • Posted By: JohnI am a WV fan and I just watched the WV. and Pitt basketball game and whoever throw something and hit the coach from Pitt should be banned from all games at WV. All that person has done is brought disgrace on the team and the university by doing something like this. Espn will have a field day with what happened. No wonder the basketball team and football team is not televised more with the way the student section acts. Either grow up or go home.
  • Posted By: SophieI would like to see the media give an overall update on the situation in Haiti. Every report I've read seems to concentrate on logistic problems getting in food & supplies. Even after seeing the pictures and making an effort to aquaint myself with the island topography, I do not understand why there is no better control. It would be good if someone could tell the American public who have been generous exactly what progress has been made and what progress we will see in the coming weeks & months.
