Plea Deal for Man Accused of Shooting His Teenage Daughter

POMEROY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A Meigs County man has pleaded guilty to a pair of lesser charges related to the shooting of his daughter last year.
Police say the back in October, Joseph Lemaster of Long Bottom shot his 17-year-old daughter in the back of the head as she was fleeing their home in a family car. They say he then set the mobile home on fire.
On Tuesday, LeMaster pleaded guilty to felonious assault and tampering with evidence during a hearing in Meigs County Common Pleas Court.
The attempted murder and aggravated arson charges were dismissed as part of the plea deal.
He was indicted on the four charges in November.
Lemaster was sentenced to 8-years on the felonious assault change. He will be sentenced on the tampering with evidence charge at a later date.
ORIGINAL STORY
MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Joseph W. Lemaster has been named in a four-count indictment which includes attempted murder and felonious assault, according to information released Friday from Meigs County Common Pleas Court.
The indictment is in connection with an Oct. 17 incident when Lemaster was accused of shooting his 17-year-old daughter, then setting his mobile home on fire.
Lemaster, who's from Long Bottom, Ohio, also was indicted on tampering with evidence and aggravated arson charges.
Lemaster is in custody in the Washington County Jail, and his trial is scheduled in January.

Ya know its true about who you know but what it all comes down to is that this individual that SHOT his own daughter deserves everything that is coming to him and I mean deserves everything.. He needs to rot in PRISON for what he done. If he was so innocent then Y did he burn his own place down after he shot his daughter in the head no less. Gee who is trying to hide something from being found out... GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY.... Is what he is regardless of what pathetic lies he has told to cover up snd try to get out of serving time. Sorry to say that, well wait a minute I'm not sorry to say that he DESERVES to ROT in Prison right where he belongs to spend his time. I feel sorry for his sister and mother for actaully believing his lies, I guess they are just as pathetic as he is....
