IRONTON, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A man is in jail after investigators say he shot two people with a 12-gauge shotgun.
Lawrence County, Ohio Sheriff’s Detective Aaron Bollinger says Clifton West, 20, of Proctorville, was arrested following the shooting Monday night.
It happened at a house on Wallace Lane near Proctorville around 11:30 p.m.
Detective Bollinger says the victims were the father and cousin of West’s girlfriend.
Bollinger says one of the victims was shot in the arm, the other in the leg. The sheriff’s office is not releasing either victims' name. Bollinger say both men’s injuries are not life threatening.
He also tells WSAZ.com that West was highly intoxicated, and that the shooting began following a verbal dispute inside the victims' house.
Bollinger says West walked next door to his trailer, got his shotgun and fired several shots in his trailer before going back to the victims’ house -- where he fired two shots into a locked door. Investigators say once inside, West shot the two people.
Several other people in the house were not injured.
West has been charged with two counts of felonious assault, aggravated burglary and vandalism. He is being held in the Lawrence County Jail.

ok now you see for you guys to say the ones shot are good ppl, you LIE, i know the one who was shot in the leg and sholder and he is VERY far from nice or kind. he is well known for drugs and alcohol. and for him being as big as he is, he had no right to beat up someone 1/4th his size. i dont blame the guy for shooting him cuz of self defence, i would not want someone that big comming after me in a harmful way. so i say he was defending him self. if the one shot in the leg was so nice and kind then i would still be friends with him, but he lies, cheats, steals and causes trouble with anyone he thinks he can beat up. so thats my peace spoken and if you ppl dont like it oh fruty well, i just simply told the truth about him and the ones who know him know its the truth.
Alright. Now look, It's ashley, i've read all the slander and crap on this page. I've told Chan about it. he's mad. He said he loves me,and asked me to have his baby when he gets out so lets look at it this way. I said yes. My dad said Follow my heart i'm doing it. If you don't like Chan and I being together you need to tell him, Write him a letter then, 1115 South 5th Street Ironton Ohio 45638. Send it to Clifton West. He wants to know who it is that is talking so much trash about me,and so Does my Father. Thanks- Ashley
ALRIGHT, STOP. What is the meaning to all this? Fighting who's wrong who's right? Who's at fault? Two Men were injured that night. Another man is in deep trouble for doing what he did after a fight. Neither The one gentleman that was shot nor Chandler were innocent. Both Men were in a fight during what should have been some family bonding. We can clearly see this. I'm sure both of them regret what happened. But there is no sense in picking Who's at fault fights. Why are you arguing on the internet Wow you look so hardcore with your keyboard. It was a rough night, An even worse morning and something everyone has to LIVE WITH. End the arguing it really is not worth it. Move on. You wanna show your support for Chan, go show him. You wanna show your support for the Aldridge family go show them. Whats the use in this hate? None of it will change things.
