CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- NFL Star Randy Moss is back home in West Virginia to help local families this holiday season.
The Randy Moss Foundation handed out dozens of Thanksgiving dinners Tuesday afternoon at the Best Western Hotel in Charleston.
"I want to show my love and appreciation for everything I have accomplished," Moss said. "I am thankful for the many blessings that have been delivered down on my family."
Moss says he went to several local churches and talked with the pastors to see who needed help this Thanksgiving.
"I am from here. I am a West Virginian. I'm a country boy. I see things going on here I can't change and do a 360, but there are some things I like to put my hands on, to be affiliated with, and helping and giving back to my people is something I like to be affiliated with," Moss said.
Dozens of families from Kanawha County were at the event Tuesday.
"It feels good. I haven't forgotten where I come from and they haven't forgotten about me," Moss said.

Randy Moss is doing a good deed here. I had an encounter with him when I was 16 and he was at MU. After my experience, I did not see him favorably. Franco, from my experience I can see how he would do that to your 6 year old at that time in his life. You have every right to forever see him in a negative light. However, what he is doing now is a good thing. This is just a teaching moment for all parents to their children - don't do anything that you may regret in the future. No matter how much Mr. Moss matures or changes his image, he will always have this black cloud over him from those of us who witnessed his actions way back when. No matter my personal opinion, thank you Mr. Moss for your contribution. It is appreciated!
