The Boyd County Sheriff's Department says 44-year-old Oda Howard was driving a tractor trailer carrying gravel. After the tire blew, his truck ran off the road.
Howard was taken to a Huntington hospital for treatment. His hometown and condition were not available.

to Jane, all tires have metal in them. Even new tires blow out.
Brandon I am sure it is rough out there on the roads, espeacially for the safe truck drivers. You also have to admit there are some rigs that would rather knock you off the road rather than fall a second behind. You cannot possibly say you have never seen an idiot truck drivers either on the job or when you are traveling in you personal vehicle, no matter years of experience. Your tall tale makes one presume you are one of those idiot drivers. Likewise I have seen normal traffic be just as much to blame for an accident or a "close call". It is not the vehicles it is people sitting behind them that has something more important to do than keep their eyes on the road. 95 percent of "accidents" could have been prevented by simple little things such as... HANG UP THE @AMN PHONE WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING!!!!
