UPDATE @ 7:30 a.m. Friday
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The 20th Street viaduct in Huntington remains closed Friday following a water main break Thursday night.

A 12-inch line running under the viaduct busted around 8 p.m. Thursday, flooding the viaduct and portions of 8th Avenue.

The viaduct runs between 7th and 8th avenues.

The force of the water tore up asphalt and a layer of brick under the pavement.

Crews were able to shut off the water in a couple of hours.

West Virginia American Water says there was no distruption of service, and a boil water advisory was not necessary.
