20th Street Viaduct Remains Closed Friday Following Water Main Break
A 12-inch line running under the viaduct burst around 8 p.m. Thursday, flooding the viaduct and portions of 8th Avenue.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The 20th Street viaduct in Huntington remains closed Friday following a water main break Thursday night.
A 12-inch line running under the viaduct busted around 8 p.m. Thursday, flooding the viaduct and portions of 8th Avenue.
The viaduct runs between 7th and 8th avenues.
The force of the water tore up asphalt and a layer of brick under the pavement.
Crews were able to shut off the water in a couple of hours.
West Virginia American Water says there was no distruption of service, and a boil water advisory was not necessary.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Water is receding in Huntington's 20th Street viaduct after West Virginia American Water workers stopped a major main break.
A 12-inch line running under the viaduct busted on the south side between 7th and 8th Avenue around 8 p.m. Thursday, causing major road damage.
The force of the water tore up asphalt and a layer of brick under the pavement. That stretch of road to be closed until further notice.
The spokeswoman for the West Virginia American Water says service has been restored to all their customers, and a boil water advisory has not been issued.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Dispatchers in Cabell County tell WSAZ.com the 20th Street viaduct in Huntington has been closed.
They say this closure is because of a "major water main break".
Because of the break, 21st Street eastbound at 8th Avenue, 19th Street westbound at 8th Avenue and Ashton Avenue at 20th Street are all closed until further notice.
