PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Eight women have been arrested in a prostitution sting conducted by the Portsmouth and New Boston Police Departments.
Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware says the operation focused on the city’s east end.
Each of the women was charged with misdemeanor solicitation. If found guilty, the maximum penalty is 60 days in jail and a $500 fine.
Ware says the department is committed to reducing these crimes and plans additional operations in the future in order to curb this activity.
