UPDATE: Tuesday @ 4:48pm
BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A young woman trapped for several hours in her car Monday night is still in the hospital.
Authorities have identifed the woman as 27-year-old Victoria Sheppard of Prenter. Her young child was also with her when the accident happened.
Deputies say Sheppard was traveling east on Route 3 in the Foster area of Boone county when her car slid over the embankment. Investigators still aren't sure why it happened.
A passerby noticed her vehicle and called 911; however, deputies were out prior to the phone call looking for Sheppard after her family asked for help. They received a broken cell phone message from her, but couldn't understand all of the information.
It was orginially thought that Sheppard was in the car for about four hours, but deputies now say it might have been longer.
It is still unclear where Sheppard was going when the accident happened.

I know all who is involved in this stuation, and it kills me to see so much pain and tragity occur over a mindless thinkless act of pure selfishness!!! A mother with 2 children on a mind cintroll substance is a daily thing anymore and is almost accepted.. how can that be? I just hope that while she is in the hospital and then possibly in jail, if she thinks it was all worth the few hours of being "high"? And i hope that one day soon people will wake up and ralize they have a problem and get help before another inocent child comes into harms way again... I MEAN ALL OF BOONE AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES!!!
ok folks lets all bind in and do a whole lot of praying .for everyone that is involved in this situation if we bind together in prayer, and stop the talking about it God will make a move..Amd I know without any doubt that our god still is working miracles ..but thats just like my savior...he is so forgiving and loving and he even loves those who make mistakes..he stands with armes wide open to welcome you in now wont you try to invite him into yor life if you dont know him let me introduce him his name is JESUS .and I love him and he loves us all so much that he shd his blood and died..not just for a few but for us all
i will pray daily for that mother that is taking care of those babies. I know her and love her dearly and it will break her heart if those babies go back into a dangerous situation. She is a terrific mother of her children they could not ask for a better person to take care of the children..
