CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Motorists could eventually come across toll booths on West Virginia roads besides just the state turnpike.
Legislation introduced at Gov. Joe Manchin's request this week proposes an alternative source of highway funding.
Manchin wants to allow the turnpike's parent agency to sell revenue bonds for new road projects around the state. The agency could then erect tolls to pay off those bonds.
But while the bill would expand the agency's reach, it also would further Manchin's ongoing drive to refocus it solely on roads.
The West Virginia Parkways, Economic Development and Tourism Authority has been involved in other pursuits, as its name suggests.
Manchin's proposal would limit its scope and change its name accordingly, to the state Parkways Authority.

ALSO FED UP! Can't wait to get out of this TAX to Death, Welfare, No JOBS, ETC.....Etc., STATE! People in this state WILL NEVER CHANGE!
If the state would urn most roads over to the counties like most other states there would be more money for new roads. Then when everyone's county taxes go through the roof these tolls won't look so bad. The money has to come from somewhere.
i'm looking for work in nc.i'm so tired of the stuppedpeoplein charlston and all there taxes this state is taxed to death .vote these morons out of office with there tolls and high taxes.
