CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A birthday celebration for everyone, even if it's not their birthday.

The Alzheimer's Association hosted a Birthday Bash Benefit at The Vault in Charleston Saturday to benefit West Virginians dealing with the condition.

This party was hosted on the late Ronald Reagan's birthday. Reagan was diagnosed with the disorder in 1994.

People who support the organization say prior to his diagnosis Reagan was a huge supporter of Alzheimer's research.

48,000 West Virginian's have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

Who's birthday is it again? Kidding. On a more serious note it's good to see a bash thrown together for things like this. Gives families a chance to meet other families suffering through the same ordeals and perhaps further raise awareness of the effects of Alzheimer's.
