Well-Known Local Developer Dies at Age 83
A well-known developer from Charleston has died.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A well-known developer from Charleston has died.
According to a spokesperson, Al Summers, 83, died at his home on Sunday.
Summers owned several properties in Charleston and Putnam County, including Liberty Square.
He also owned the property where Appalachian Power Park stands today. He sold that property to the City of Charleston back 2003.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at St. George's Orthodox Cathedral. The viewing is set from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home in Charleston.
