ROANE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Roane County volunteer firefighter is accused of setting fires.
Paul "Sam" Perkins was a volunteer firefighter in Spencer. He has been indicted on three first-degree arson charges.
The Roane County prosecutor says Perkins set fire to three of his neighbors' homes in December.
Some of the neighbors were still inside, so Perkins also faces attempted murder charges.

I am seeing a lot of pre-judging here. Our CJ System says we are Inocent until proven guilty. Until a judge/jury says that Sam is guitly then he is inocent! Family and friends are hurting from this. People tend to hear one side and pass judgement. Sam is a young kid, who needs support, not bashing. A grand jury does not hear the defending side. They do their job to hear the presumed charges brought against the defendant. No one has proved Sam guilty. Local paper gave a story about one of the witnesses who was struck by a car while going to court that was postponed, the media made it sound like Sam was responsible for that TOO! Which he wasnt, but the story told all about his case instead of just stating a person was struck by a car. The media gives little fragments to catch attention of their customers. You are not getting the facts to both sides. You do not know if Sam is guitly, some day you people may need support. Hang in there Sam, you still have people on your side. We love <3!!!!
