Winter Weather Grounding Flights Nationwide
Major airports were shut down on Wednesday causing problems throughout the country, including at Yeager Airport in Charleston.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Major airports were shut down on Wednesday causing problems throughout the country, including at Yeager Airport in Charleston.
Many flights were canceled out of Yeager because major hubs like those in Washington D.C. and New York were shut down.
Brian Belcher with Yeager Airport says thousands of flights nationwide were canceled Wednesday. This blizzard is causing one of the biggest disruptions in air travel since September 11th.
Belcher says it's also difficult to re-arrange passengers' schedules because the airlines don't want them to get stuck at a hub and not make it to their final destination.
His best advice is to call ahead or check your flight status on-line.
Those with frequent flier accounts can also re-book their flights on-line.
Flights to areas like Charlotte and Atlanta were running on schedule Thursday night out of Yeager.
But flights were already canceled for Thursday morning because the planes couldn't make it in Wednesday night.
