FRANKFORT, Ky. (WSAZ) -- The state of Kentucky has teamed up with Microsoft to offer residents free online job training and certification.
Vouchers are now available for "Microsoft Elevate America."
They first teamed up last month, giving vouchers to unemployed residents. However, there are still 18,000 vouchers left. They will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

This is nothing but a scam cooked up by the state and Microsoft to make money. I got a voucher the only course that I thought might help me get a job in this ghost town was no longer offered. My second choice was a course in setting up and maintaining a server. The courses they sent me was how to build a database. I called Microsoft about the courses not matching the description and they told me had I been a paying customer they could fix it, but since I used a voucher their hands were tied. Microsoft told me to request another voucher. I requested another voucher and the state told me maybe I should take one of the courses to get certified to as a Microsoft Office user. Don't think there is a big demand for Certified Office users in this area. They just give you these useless courses hoping you'll buy the ones you need to get a job. I don't recommend getting a voucher. It's not worth the headache, and you'll still be unemployed.
