CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Cleaning the snow off fire hydrants could help firefighters during emergencies.

West Virginia American Water and Ohio American Water are asking residents for help clearing snow from hydrants. They say the snow accumulation has left many hydrants partially or completely buried in snow.

They ask that if you have a hydrant on or near your property, take the time to clean them off. They say this will allow access to water quickly, helping firefighters do their job easier -- potentially saving lives and structures.

Yeah, I see these guys all the time just sitting around in their trucks, talking to each other. And when they do drive they drive too fast. And when they do work they do it wrong, I saw one holding his shovel the wrong way. Somebody should do something....Somebody!!!
