WINFIELD, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Neighbors in Putnam County will get a chance to voice their concerns about a vicious dog ordinance that was recently enacted.
The ordinance, which was passed by the Putnam County Commission, is a breed specific rule that prohibits pit bulls, mixed breed pit bulls and other dogs considered vicious from running free.
Opponents to the ordinance have complained it unfairly targets pit bulls.
As a result, commissioners are meeting Thursday evening with concerned residents. The meeting is scheduled at 7 p.m. Thursday at the old Putnam County Courthouse in Winfield.

1) ALL dogs should be confined/restrained. PERIOD. 2) Any dog CAN and WILL bite given provocation. 3) Dogs will behave as they are allowed/taught to behave. 4) Dogs are hit by cars more often than humans are bitten; protect your buddies. 5) The size of the dog directly correlates to the damage it will cause. Small dogs are more aggressive, but big dogs are more dangerous. 6) Certain breeds of large dogs are bred for certain types of damage. Pitts grip, lock, shake, and crush. Shepherds and wolves hunt, grip, and tear. Dobermans have backhooked teeth that rip flesh. More exotic dogs such as Presarios fixate and attack single-mindedly. 7) While terriers are the most aggressive breeds, they cause mostly flesh wounds. Their attacks are loud, fast, and hard - like being attacked by a bird. 8) Luther - I hope your personal version of Hell has you caged/trained/fought like those dogs. I hope you LOSE every single time and die slowly, then wake up and do it agin. Forever.
