KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- After what seemed like a lull in meth lab busts, they're now back with a vengeance. The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department says the public is to thank.

The latest bust happened on Thursday in Sissonville. Deputies arrested Timothy Brogan and Amanda Porter. Investigators say they found all the makings for meth inside a trailer at the Pine Valley Trailer Park in Sissonville.

Similar busts have been popping up throughout the region. Just this month, there have been several arrests.

Kanawha County Sheriff's Lt. Sean Crosier says the region has never broken the addiction to meth.

"It's still a huge problem, at least here in the Kanawha Valley," Crosier says.

But the one thing that has changed is the number of tips. Crosier says the tips have more than doubled in the past six weeks. He says the sheriff's department used to get about two tips per day. Now, the department is receiving about five tips regarding meth labs each day.

"Without tips we have an extremely difficult time in locating meth labs because a lot of time they're in isolated areas," Crosier says.

Crosier says they also now have more resources within the department to follow up on the tips.

Kanawha County's meth tip line is (304) 357-4693.
