UPDATE @ 11:00am
RAVENSWOOD, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A fire destroyed a log cabin in Ravenswood Monday morning.
The fire started around 8:30 a.m. just off the Silverton exit of Interstate 77 in Jackson County.
Emergency Services Director Walter Smittle tells WSAZ.com firefighters had a hard time getting to the house because of icy road conditions so they had to drag the hoses up the driveway.
The Boohers' family owns the cabin.
No one was hurt. A firefighter had to leave the scene of the fire because he was sick, but his illness had nothing to do with fighting the fire.
Smittle says the fire started in the chimney and quickly spread to the attic area.

People do not realize that these men and women volunteer to put their lives on the line for no reward other than a thank you and the feeling of doing good for someone.
