HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – The public is invited to the grand opening of the Marshall University Foundation Hall at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27.
The $9 million facility located on 5th Avenue houses the Erickson Alumni Center on the first floor.
“It’s a home away from home for our alumni,” said Dr. Ron Area, CEO of the Marshall University Foundation, Inc., and senior vice president of development. “When they come in they are going to be wowed because of the attention to detail the alumni and development committee showed in planning the building.”
The grand opening will include a dedication ceremony, featuring several speakers, followed by an open house.
The Marshall University Foundation Hall, which is home to the new Erickson Alumni Center and the Marshall University Foundation, will open to the public Saturday.
For a price, you can get your name put on the hall. The least costly purchase would be a char, at $50, and the most expensive would be the entire ballroom, at $800,000.
An invitation-only, private reception for donors is planned for Friday, Feb. 26.

First, good story Carrie Cline!!! I love when you bring controversial topics to the table. You're an excellent reporter and anchor. Second, I feel for these women, and I agree with Bill Dotson. Its a shame that there should have to be such a law.
Yeah!!! Looking forward to it. Nice good news story. Go Herd!
Who's considered an Alumni? I know someone who gratuates is but what about someone who just attended for a semester or so?? I'm really tired of people saying I'm an alumni of MU when you know they only went about a semester and flunked out!!
