ORIGINAL STORY
MINGO COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man from Mingo County accused of killing his estranged wife and then stuffing her into a refrigerator and dumping it over the hill appeared in court Monday.

Police say Roger Stroud admitted to shooting his wife, Michelle after a fight in September. Then, he allegedly put her body in a refrigerator and dropped it over a hill.

Stroud has pleaded not guilty to the crime.

During the hearing on Monday, Stroud asked the judge to set bond so he could get out jail.

Prosecutors asked the judge to deny Stroud's request because of the nature of the crime.

The judge is expected to make a ruling on that motion in the next day or so.

Prosecutors tell WSAZ.com they are still waiting on a couple of reports from the West Virginia State Police Forensics Lab so they can present the case to a grand jury.
