MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) -- West Virginia University alumnus Ken Kendrick is giving the school's College of Business and Economics another $125,000.

The gift announced Tuesday supports an initiative he began in 2005 with a $500,000 gift, the Ken and Randy Kendrick Fund for Free-Market Research.

The fund helps faculty and students research how lower taxes, less regulation, personal responsibility and private property rights can encourage entrepreneurship.

It helped produce an award-winning book by Russell Sobel, "Unleashing Capitalism," and a second book called "The Rule of Law."

Kendrick is managing general partner of the Arizona Diamondbacks. He earned a business administration degree from WVU in 1965.
