ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) -- He's titled his life's work, "The Amazing Jason."

This 13-year-old is nothing short of a truly surprising young man. Jason has a really warm sense of humor and loves to talk. He's also very inquisitive. In our latest "Carrie's Kids," we've found our first recruit -- a young man with a bright future in television.

He told WSAZ.com's Carrie Cline all about it over an intense game of Skee-Ball at Gatti-Land. Here's what they had to say:

JASON: If it's warm outside, I like to go toss the football and play basketball, but if it's snowing or cold, I don't really like going outside.

CARRIE: Do you like to sled or play in the snow?

JASON: Yes. I don't like the soft snow. I like the hard stuff to make good snowballs. If it's really snowy and cold, I like to stay in and play my games.

CARRIE: What do you want to be when you grow up?

JASON: I want to be a photographer like on WSAZ. I'd like to be that.

CARRIE: That would be awesome. You could follow us around and shoot breaking news.

JASON: Yes, ma'am. When I lifted it up and just looked at it, it was just cool.

CARRIE: That's right. You got to hold the camera today, and that was your first time holding the camera.

JASON: Yes, it was very fun, I loved it!

CARRIE: So, now you know that's what you want to do.

JASON: That's not what I want to do, that's what I'm gonna do.

CARRIE: What is your ideal family? Would you like brothers and sisters?

JASON: Yes, ma'am. I"d like a family that would be fun and could joke around, but would have serious times. I'd like a family to give you respect. My dream family is a family that respects you and let's you get your word in.

CARRIE: What's the coolest thing about Jason?

JASON: I think a lot of myself. When I'm down, I always think of something to cheer me up. People don't have to cheer me up. I can think of something on my own to make myself cheer up.

CARRIE: So, you're a pretty cheerful, happy-go-lucky kind of guy?

JASON: Yes, ma'am, and I try to keep it that way.

Jason is also a topnotch student who makes mostly A's and has won several awards for his academics this school year.

Carrie says she "had a ball with Jason." He's not only fun, but fun-loving with a genuine love for people and a desire to please. Carrie says spend five minutes with Jason, and you'll be captivated.
