PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A medical emergency can arise quickly at any sporting event, and a Putnam County Golf Club is prepared to help someone suffering a heart attack.

On Tuesday, Thomas Memorial Hospital donated an automated external defibrillator, which is better known as an AED, to the Sleep Hollow Golf Club.

The American Heart Association also is providing training to golf club personnel so they can use the AED properly.
