FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - The Senate has voted overwhelmingly to
allow Bible classes to be taught in public schools across Kentucky.

The bill that would effectively return the Bible to classrooms across Kentucky cleared the Senate on a 37-1 vote and now goes to the House for consideration.

Democratic state Sen. Kathy Stein of Lexington cast the only dissenting vote. She questioned the constitutionality of the measure sponsored by Sen. David Boswell, also a Democrat.

Under the Kentucky proposal, Bible courses would be offered as
electives, meaning students could decide whether to take them.

The legislation is Senate Bill 142.

I think this is wonderful. Most children never know the good values in bible stories. It just is not taught in the home anymore. Maybe our schools will be a better place because of this. We sure teach them enough garbage with the TV and computer. We need good to counteract all the bad. Thank the Lord!!

This could not be any worse of an idea. Our public schools are already falling apart from being underfunded and under supported. The last thing we need is for religion, already well covered by parents and churches, to be in schools sucking up tax dollars. This is absolute heresy to our constitution and common sense. This is just an absolute waste.
