WINFIELD, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman who stole thousands of dollars from Putnam County's Union Public District will not spend any time in jail.

Back in 2004, Lora Hively started writing checks to herself from the county check book -- then cashing them.

Hively was sentenced Thursday to three years probation and one thousand hours of community service.

Sounds like more than one person was getting money from those checks.

I am not sure why people are so outraged by this story!! A lot of times non-violent offenders don't get jail time!! the jails are way too over crowded! Just be happy she's not in jail sucking up more of our tax payers money!!!
