SUTTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The town of Sutton, nestled between the mountains of Braxton County, has seen its fair share of snow through the years, but still there's no getting used to this winter.

The town is once again getting hit hard by the latest snow storm.

Mayor J.L. Campbell jokingly says he, and everyone else, is ready to see some Easter Lilies.

But on a more serious note, the weather is taking a toll on the budget. The town got a new snow removal truck in January and it has been on the road nearly everyday this year.

"We were riding a fine line," Campbell says. "I know the Governor has appealed to the federal government for help and hopefully that will trickle down to the smaller towns who are facing the red line."

Towns across West Virginia are facing similar problems because of the harsh winter.

Campbell says by the end of February, the town will likely be over budget when it comes to snow removal.

Others in the town are fed up with this winter, which they say is the worst in several years. But Rodney Gillespie is trying to keep it in perspective.

"I work over in Randolph County, and we've got a whole lot more out there," he says.

It doesn't matter where you live, snow like we've got this winter affects everybody. Especially the small towns, where we have smaller bugets to work with, and we have to drive farther to get the neccassities we need, where in Charleston you have a Go Mart or a 7 11 on every corner.

thank you to WSAZ for covering this little town in braxton its nice to know even the smallest of towns are remembered and to what cityslicker said there might be more people there but you guys get your street plowed everyday and its nothing for you to get out of where you live heck your so close to everything you could walk but you just dont know what its like here in the country where state road dosent even know the road you live on exists so if you dont have 4 wheel drive you can forget about going anywhere and unfourtionitly we cant walk know where not unless we want to be walking for days

I agree with Braxton, mostly because that's where I'm FROM. I miss braxton, but I currently live in Charleston and I'm so grateful that they covered Braxton on WSAZ!!! It's about time!! Sorry Cityslicker, but until you live down in a hollar with 3 feet of snow and your road never gets plowed, i don't think you have much room to talk about your problems.. Sorry, but you should be counting your blessings instead of getting on here and complaining about news coverage.
