CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- West Virginia's House of Delegates wants the Senate to consider regulating third-party election ads as well as political activity by in-state corporations.

But largely party-line votes reflected GOP concerns that the two bills passed Monday are unconstitutional. Foes cited federal court orders targeting two previous rounds of such legislation.

One of Monday's measures would require in-state corporations to obtain shareholder approval and then detail spending when devoting funds to politics. It reached the Senate 61-34.

The other bill advanced 69-26. It would apply the U.S. Supreme Court's recent campaign finance ruling to define when an ad expressly advocates votes for or against a candidate. Such ads would trigger disclosure reporting.

I agree with bobbi, government needs a good flushing. Sounds like these deligates may be afraid that someone may come up with better ideas as to how government should be ran than what they are doing. We certainly need some changes. I'm gonna start looking at some of these third-party ideas.

Wv goverment is not owned by the citizens. They are the old boy network ran amuck. It is time for a third party or atleast throw all these life long politicians out of office. Remember, we clearly wanted Hillary and all of the politicians thumbed their noses at us because they knew Obama was going to win and they wanted to jump on his coat tails. Time for a flush people !!!!!!!! Remember at election time, just dont vote the same old names because you are unfamiliar with the new ones. Do some research about new candidates. You can tell by this article that they ol boys are getting nervous and are trying to squash the competition with their usual unfair play.

WV is last in the nation in almost every social economic catagory, and our Legislature is passing Bills about which name goes on the ballet first, limiting election ads, etc. What a total disgrace...and this is the same bunch of men and women that want it made law that our Magistrates have a college degree. If this is the kind of politics you get with a college degree....give us some drop outs to go to next years legislature!!! Maybe they could offer some real economic solutions.
