LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A three-car accident in Logan County ended with an elderly man dead and a teenager in jail.
State Police tell us that Staci Spaulding was driving along Route 44 in Omar when she crashed into a car on Monday. The impact of the crash caused the car to skid into another vehicle.
An 81-year-old man who was riding in the car that was hit first died from his injuries. Spaulding was arrested and charged with a controlled substance DUI.
She was in the Southwestern Regional Jail Monday night.

I just read about this and I am so sorry for the victims family. But unfortunately WV and especially Logan County never treats the victims fairly. I know from personal experience. I still have family in Logan, but I have nothing for the Logan County justice system.

Well, I guess after reading all of these I have decided to make a post of my own..Several things about the whole accident upsets me, the family that lost loved ones, the girl who gets out of jail and seems to have no remorse..but mostly important is my boyfriend and daughter who were both injured in the accident but never seem to be mentioned in the news or papers and now to find out the girl doesn't even have enough insurance to cover his car, let alone medical bills and now we are told to turn it in on our own insurance and that we will have to cover our medical bills with our health care insurance.!! These two were innocent just as well as Mr. Roberson and Owens were and it seems all of the innocent victims are paying the price for a young girls mistake. Yes, I know mistakes happen...but at least accept responability for what is done and take care of the ones you have injured and so remorse for the family of their loved ones life you took and can never bring back. The system is a mess

yes, i know everyone makes mistakes, but not everyones mistakes end with someone losing their life. as a christian, yes, i think we have to find forgiveness for this girl, but i do think she has to accept the consequences for her actions! if i killed someone in an accident, and i chose to be under the influence of something that would impair my driving ability, i would want to be punished for what i did. it is not ok to drive under the influence of drugs! i just hope she is sorry. some people have no concience, hopefully she is not one of those people, because she will be facing more than jail if she does not feel some form of guilt or responsiblity for her actions, and i do pray for her family for what they must be feeling also.
