UPDATE @ 3:04pm
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Operators at two hospitals say the teen involved in a car wash explosion is no longer in the hospital.

Montana Legg was flown to the hospital Thursday morning as a result of the explosion. People who saw him shortly after described him as dazed, but up and walking around.

The owner of the car wash in Bickmore, Joe Morris, says a gas heater was stolen off the wall sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

Morris says he purchased and hung a wall mounted gas heater about six weeks ago. All that was left Thursday when Legg put quarters in the car was sprayer was a pipe with the gas still freely flowing. Morris says that is what caused the explosion.

The person responsible also took off with quarters from the change machine.

Several members of the law enforcement community are working on this investigation.

The State Fire Marshal is offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to a conviction in this case.

Morris says he owns ten car washes in Clay, Kanawha, Braxton and Nicholas Counties. He says in the last month and a half he has been burglarized 18 times.

When he got the call Thursday morning about the explosion, he was talking with law enforcement officials about a burglary at his location in Gasaway.

He says he wasn't worried about the facility, he was worried about the young man injured. 'You can replace the car wash," he said.

The victim is a distant family member of Morris.

UPDATE @ 11:15am
CLAY COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A person was flown to the hospital after an explosion at a car wash in Clay County.

The explosion happened around 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the car wash along Route 16 in Bickmore.

A woman who witnessed the explosion described it as a flash fire that put itself out.

She also tells WSAZ.com Montana Legg was washing the back of his pick-up truck when the explosion happened. We're told Legg was hit by debris.

Legg's grandfather lives across the street so he came and got him and took him to his house and called 911.

When emergency crews got on scene Legg was taken to the high school's football field and flown to a local hospital. Legg was dazed, but we're told he was walking around.

The owner of the car wash tells WSAZ.com someone broke into his coin machine late Wednesday night.

Witnesses say Legg had to go to the grocery store across the street to get quarters before he started washing his truck.

The State Fire Marshal is on the scene trying to figure out what caused the fire. However, the owner says they haven't ruled out a natural gas leak.

No one else was hurt. Two walls of the car wash have collapsed.

We have a crew on the scene. Keep clicking on WSAZ.com for the very latest information.

From the looks of the car wash he's lucky to be alive! I don't think he's going to complain about being flown to the hospital. I guess it's going to take somebody being killed to get something done.
