Cultural Learnings at International Festival

RUSSELL, Ky. (WSAZ) Even though the world can appear very small, we all have a lot to learn from each other.
The Center for Cultural Interchange hosted its second annual International Festival Saturday.
The event is a chance to showcase just how different holidays, meals, and attire can be when you cross into another nation.
"Our society is getting much smaller, our global society with air time and people having contact with each other all across the world,” the center’s Carla Holt said. “It’s such a wonderful thing for people to learn about each other so we are more connected to the world, and when we do that hopefully we'll have a more peaceful world."
While the event was about global awareness, the donation required to get into today's event stays close to home.
It was a canned food item for the Russell Family Resource Center.
