HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Four months after the doors opened, a special house in Huntington is celebrating the many lives it's already seen changed.

The Shepherd's House in Huntington is a faith based recovery program for men whose lives have been shattered by alcohol, drugs, and crime.

The house serves as a home and fellowship hall for many men trying to put their lives back together.

Many of them say putting religion first has truly made a difference. John Marshall is one of those men.

"I came out of Park West, I was homeless and had nowhere to go. God opened a door for me and brought be here and I owe my life to God," Marshall said. "I put everything in front of my recovery before and lost everything, my family, my house, my jobs. With this program and with God in my life I'm a new man, I'm reborn."

The Shepherd's house opened in December and is now at full capacity.

Even though there is no more room right now for residents, group sessions are open to everyone.
