FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky's lethal injection protocol could be in place by May after a legislative committee raised no objection to the three-drug method used to execute condemned prisoners.
The committee heard from the Department of Corrections on Monday about changes made to the execution protocol, as well as objections from death penalty opponents.
The execution method must be reviewed by two more legislative committees, then will go to Gov. Steve Beshear no later than May 7 for his approval or rejection.
Kentucky is seeking to reenact its execution protocol after the state Supreme Court ruled in November the written procedures were improperly adopted and threw them out.

Just give them a bottle of pills and let them do it themselves and save the state some money. Ohio nearly had it right but didn't give him enough pills. Now they have to get him well so they can execute him later.
Do I live in KY, no. Did I until I moved to WV in 1996, yes, therefore I "must" make a comment to this story. Called "Freedom Of Speech". I am 100% for the death sentence, EXCEPT for inmate's that do UNSPEAKABLE crime's. IE: abducting a child/teen & commit unspeakable act's to that child/teen. ANY one whom that commits another unspeakable crime. IE: Murder of any sort, be it drunk/drug death's per driving, etc. that is an unspeakable crime upon another human, period. "or" any unspeakable infraction under the letter of the law. Again, period. In "my" opinion lethal injection is too kink to that inmate. Death care per electric without a water device, sponge, etc.placed on that sub-human's head. Or simply hang them in front of the public, children excluded, hang that person. It is my FIRM stance and I do NOT waver from my opinion. Hence, in short I "firmly" believe that sub human that took an innocent life should have the same infraction done to them, period. God Bless ALL parent's.
