KENOVA, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- U.S. 52 and W.Va. 75 have since reopened in the area where the tanker truck overturned Tuesday morning in the Kenova area.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Department tells us the roadways reopened shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday.
ORIGINAL STORY
KENOVA, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A tanker truck has crashed near Kenova.
Dispatchers say the semi overturned at the intersection of Route 75 and U.S. 52.
The crash was reported shortly after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Firefighters tell WSAZ.com that the truck is carrying maleic acid. They say the chemical is not leaking.
Crews are now off-loading the chemical into another truck.
There were no injuries.
Drivers who need to travel U.S. 52 south will need to take U.S 23 to Louisa, Ky. then cross back into West Virginia. Those drivers heading north should also cross over to U.S. 23 at Fort Gay.
Dispatchers expect the roads to reopen late afternoon Tuesday .
A small number of residences were evacuated for a short time late Tuesday morning. That all-clear was given around 1 p.m.
According to one web site, maleic acid is a colorless crystalline acid
that is used in textile processing and as an oil and fat preservative.
It is corrosive and can cause irritation to the skin, respiratory tract and eyes.

Hmmm. I'm thinking when you turn a truck over, you pretty well crashed. That's people for you. Gagging on gnats.
The headline is misleading! In the story you say overturned,,,the "breaking news" said "crash" ... two very different terms.... STOP dramatizing your headlines WSAZ. Report it completely and accuartely the first time.
