SISSONVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Emergency crews are on the scene of a person hit by a car in Sissonville.

The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the 38-hundred block of Sissonville Drive.

Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies tell WSAZ.com the driver of the car hit a sanitary worker picking up trash along the roadway.

The victim was taken to CAMC General.

Route 21 was closed until the scene was cleared.

Sheriff's Deputies say the victim was alert and conscious.
