Grayson, Ky (WSAZ) -- Spring is just around the corner and that means bears are about to wake up from their deep winter sleep.
When they wake up, they'll be hunting for food -- that means there are some do's and do not's if you want to keep them away from you.

here's another safety tip for wild bears, stay clear of semis, you at least have half a chance of surviving if a car hits you. Be careful out there bears.

there was a study done a few years ago and if you are attacked by a bear you should use pepper spray and a whistle to scare the bear away. a seperate study was done on bears that attacked hikers. they found that the droppings of the bears contained whistles and smelled like pepper spray.
