W.Va. Governor Extends State of Emergency
Governor Joe Manchin has extended the State of Emergency for 34 counties until April 11th.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Governor Joe Manchin has extended the State of Emergency for 34 counties until April 11th.



KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Shelters have been set up in Kanawha county to help the people who have been forced from their homes because of high water.

An emergency shelter will be set up at the Pratt Volunteer Fire Department all day.

The Red Cross will also set up a shelter at Riverside High School.

If you need help, you can call the Kanawha County Emergency Operations Center at 304-746-8828.

Governor Joe Manchin has declared a state of emergency for 34 counties in West Virginia. That list includes Cabell, Wayne, Mason and Jackson counties.

Another excellent example of wsaz (LACK OF!!) proper reporting. Let's just have the audience drive aimlessly through Kanawha county until they find one of those shelters; there's simply no need to actually properly report and perhaps tell someone where it might actually be at.
