SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- There's nothing left of Party King in South Charleston, but the owner vows to re-build.
The business, which specializes in party supplies and rentals, caught fire early Sunday morning.
"Devastating, heartbroken," Brian Adkins, the owner of Party King says. "It's materialistic things that can be replaced, but in mine, my wife and my employees' eyes it's like losing a family member right now."
Adkins opened Party King in South Charleston in 1996, building the business in the Kanawha Valley from the ground up, and he says he's ready to do it again.
"We've been in this business for too long in the Kanawha Valley, we will be here, we will rebuild," Adkins says.
The company does many events from weddings and birthday parties, to events for South Charleston like Summerfest and things for non-profits.
Mike Smith, who is an organizer of Big Brothers Big Sisters Myrtle Beach Dinner Dance, says Party King is a crucial part of the event. Smith says without them the event which draws more than 2,000 people would be a bust.
"They have just been outstanding," Smith says. But Smith says the company has helped out in other ways as well.
"We had to make a move from our office in South Charleston about a year ago and had trouble raising people to help us move," Smith says. "I talked to Brian and he sent two or three guys and two trucks over and never charged us a penny."
Adkins also has a location in Beckley. For now they are directing all calls to that location and Adkins says they will fulfill all the contracts from down there.
In the fire, the contracts were burned, so Adkins says if someone has a contract with the company they need to give them a call and then fax it to their Beckley location so they can fulfill the contract.
The fire department is still investigating how the fire started.

Glenn, its normal to be an assistant manager and have the nicest house on the block, 2 rotweilers, jet skis, a boat and multiple cars. I want you to know that he is not dealing drugs...lol
WOW... this is terrible news. The last time I recall seeing anything Party King related was wheb I was dropping of an order in Teays Valey around December and on the way back to charleston I seen a company truck on the side of I-64 and some police. I later came to learn that some employees threatned the driver of the truck and he stopped the truck and got out onto 64 and got hit by a car. I have heard from people in the area they have a high turnover. Maybe they need to not only rebuild the establishment but rebuild their staff.
Im sure they still have their side jobs dealing for south charleston
