CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- An Italian company has dropped plans to open a chemicals and abrasives plant in Charleston.
Accountant Patrick Smith says the company, New Finishing Line, no longer exists. Smith's accounting firm worked for the company.
New Finishing Line was a subsidiary of Varese, Italy-based Catalfer SRL. In 2006, Pasquale Catalfamo, Catalfer's president and chief executive officer, had announced plans for a plant that would employ up to 40 people.

Its good it leaves now before the state invested a lot of money into to it like they did to the So Charleston Stamping plant.Ray Parks and John Wise took that money and made that plant a automatic plant with taxs payers money putting workers out of work. This plan backfired due to the workers that was displaced can not afford to by their product. That plant once again took advange of all WV tax payers.

Thank goodness! That is the last thing Charleston needs - more chemicals! Has anyone noticed how bad Charleston has smelled since the "blue haze" incident that we were never told the truth about? The stench in Charleston is awful and you can smell it well outside of city limits on some days. We need to properly monitor the chemical plants we already have, before we even consider adding another to a monitoring system that is either taking pay offs, incompetent, or just not doing their jobs. Fix the mess we already have before adding more in the mix!

You people remind me of a place where I use to live where they started building houses in the country, actually next to a farm ( hog farm ) and it wasn't a few months until the new owners tried to get an injunction against the farmer , because of the PIG SMELL. But you see the pigs were there when the people moved in . The Chemical plants have been in the WV area for many many years . Know why ? because it was ISOLATED , and the dangers were removed from the population . But you people moved in ( next door ) and then started complaining . WAKE UP AMERICA
