A Goodwill Wedding
When most people go to Goodwill, they expect to walk away with someone else's shirt or shoes, but one woman topped it all when she walked away with a husband.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- When most people go to Goodwill, they expect to walk away with a gently used shirt or shoes, but one woman topped it all when she walked away with a husband.
They say when you know, you know. The former Loretta Runyon said that was the case for her when she met the love of her life, Arlin Jackson.
Loretta, now Jackson, and Arlin both work for Goodwill Industries. They met a few years ago, cleaning up the bleachers after a Marshall University Football game.
"We worked two separate hours, two separate shifts," Loretta said. "I just felt like he was the right person."
When Arlin and Loretta got engaged, they thought about just eloping. When they told their plan to Connie Chaney, another Goodwill employee, she said no way -- and the idea of a "Goodwill Wedding" was born.
Eight Goodwill stores from the region pitched in, scanning donations for anything that could be used in the wedding. Loretta bought Arlin's wedding clothes and he bought hers, but aside from that, everything was from a Goodwill store.
"We've really enjoyed it and it's been a thrill to see how happy they've been," Chaney said.
Saturday afternoon, friends and family filled the Virginia Avenue Goodwill in Huntington to watch Arlin and Loretta say their vows.
"She's my best friend," Arlin said, "And the love of my life."

What the story didn't share was that the preacher is also an employee at Goodwill. He is one of the truck drivers. I think this is a very sweet story and I'm very happy for the couple.
My mom and dad met after both of them working for Goodwill in Charleston WV. May 21, 2010 would have been 49 years they are both gone now and have been united again in heaven so I hope that these two have a wonderful marriage like my parents had.
Congratulation to the happy couple. Having the ceremony themed for the way you met was a great touch. Also, for those who don't know, Salvation Army and Goodwill are great organizations, who both help out in the community. Their stores are also great places to pick up wedding decorations and items to get a new household started without breaking the bank. My wife and I found a LOT of the things we used in ours at thrift stores, and wound up being able to have a lot fancier wedding and reception because of it. Once again, thanks to everyone who supports charitable thrift stores, and CONGRATULATION to the happy couple!
