One Dead in Floyd County Shooting
Kentucky State Police tell WSAZ.com that the shooting happened at a residence on Coolwater Creek Road in Hueysville around 4 a.m..

FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – A 29-year- old man is dead following a shooting early Tuesday morning in Floyd County, Ky.
Kentucky State Police tell WSAZ.com that the shooting happened at a residence on Coolwater Creek Road in Hueysville around 4 a.m.
Trooper Mike Goble says the victim is 29-year-old Michael Whitaker who lived at the address where the shooting happened.
Trooper Goble says Whitaker’s uncle, 53-year-old Russell Neeley, has been arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and tampering with evidence.
Goble says the investigation revealed that there had been a disagreement between the two men before the shooting.
Right now, Goble says the shooting is being called a death investigation, but he is not ruling out foul play and additional charges.
Whitaker's body has been sent to the Kentucky State Medical Examiners Office in Frankfort for an autopsy to establish the exact cause of death.
