It's another rally, this time in opposition to the table games referendum.

Maranatha Fellowship Church hosted the rally in St. Albans on Sunday afternoon. There was also another rally in Nitro at the Nitro Twin City Bible Church. That rally started at 5 p.m. Church members hope these rallies translate into votes against table games.

“It's important that we get people aware and get them to get out get voting and vote no,” said Randy Stanley, a resident of Cross Lanes.

Early voting on this issue continues through August 8. The special election is Saturday, August 11.

What is the difference between table games slot machines or betting on dogs ? All are gambling, however the odds of winning are much higher when playing table games. Atleast there is a certain degree of skill involved when playing most live action table games compared to simply throwing money in a machine and depending on 100% luck to be successful. Bottomline: slot machines give you a less than 5% chance of winning but no one has a problem with that?

Can you please provide proof that crime will be committed if table games are approved at the Greyhound Park? You need to back your claims when making statements like this. It all about creating jobs in West Virginia. You people talk like this is going to bring murderers and rapists into your towns. Geez. Get a grip people. This why no one should listen to religious nutjob. They want you to believe what they believe in. I believe in a good economy for the state of West Virginia. Religious people just want you to follow their word and to donate 10% or your earnings so your pastor can get a new Cadillac.

It kills me to see that commercial of Danny Jones saying that table games won't increase rate, it'll add a bunch more paying jobs. This is bull. First off, gambling can become an addiction just like cigarettes or alcohol can and if people will still to support those addictions don't you think that they won't steal to gamble, I think so. I see an increase in crime if it passes. As for the jobs. It may add some jobs but the way some people are acting, it will give everyone unemployed in WV a job and that won't be the case. Even the jobs that will be there will probably only pay a little over minimum wage and that's it. How many people out there now already take the money they get and sell it for drugs or alcohol, it will get much worse if table games pass. I know WV needs jobs to come here but in my opinion these aren't the type of jobs that we want and the type that we want to support our family with. Anybody that has a right to right should go out and vote NO for this.
