KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A routine traffic stop early Friday morning lead State Police to discover hundreds of prescription pills that were being illegally sold.
According to a news release, a Trooper pulled over Rebecca Bowling on Green Valley Drive because her car was improperly registered. Bowling was asked to get out of her vehicle and she told troopers that she did have prescription pills and a large amount of cash in the car.
Troopers found Oxycontin, Lortab, and Xanax in the car, according to the release.
Police say hundreds of pills were found hidden in a Coke can that had a false compartment inside. Bowling only had a proper prescription for a small amount of the Xanax pills found.
Bowling agreed to let State Police search her home, there they found more than $5,000. Police say she admitted to troopers that most of that money came from selling the pills.
She's charged with three counts of possession with the intent to deliver.

Audrey - I agree with you. But sad thing is law passed to give early probation to non violent offenders including felons - not connected with child abuse. So in the near future thousands of drug dealers, users, thieves will be right back on the street. The next violence that occurs should be the people they victimize committing assault ON THEM. Oh wait - no that's illegal u gotta get a warrant, put em back in jail for a little while and let them get you again - right? WRITTEN by MsDalton
Wow! I thought these things only happened in Logan and Mingo. Ah but seriously, it seems this is a problem all over WV.
Read the story.... she was asked to step out of the car (and they can make you do that on a routine stop without any suspicion of weapons at all) and then told police she had contraband in the car... That gives the police PROBABLE CAUSE to search WITHOUT a warrant under the automobile exception. Even if there was no PC or consent they can still AUTOMATICALLY search the car prior to it being towed as it had the improper plates on it.... Some people really have no clue...
