UPDATE @ 5:13 p.m.
KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The man deputies believe shot his wife before turning the gun on himself has died from his injuries.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department says Leonard Hicks died at CAMC General Hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to the head Friday night.

Friends tell WSAZ.com that Hicks was on life support before he passed away Saturday afternoon.

Leonard's brother-in-law, Chris Shinaunt, said he never saw this coming.

"I knew they were having a little bit of trouble, but I didn't think it was this serious. I can't believe Leonard would do this."

Annetta worked at Lens Crafters as a Lab Technician for 17 years. Richa Nelson, co-worker, says she was working alongside of Annetta just an hour before she was shot by her husband.

Richa says Annetta had told freinds the couple was considering a divorce, but she says "we had no idea this was a possibility, a remote possibility at all."

The couple leaves behind two children, 17 and 19 -year-old boys.

I did not know this couple, but my heart is broken 4 what this family has 2 face. I cannot conceive anyone leaving hurtful comments....my brother committed suicide last yr., & 5 mo. later my husband drowned. I am still grieving. My purpose in sharing in this is 2 let this family know that you are absolutely in my thoughts & prayers & I wish I could ease your pain & suffering somehow. I make it through each day by leaning on The Lord & staying in church. God can help you all through this terrible tragedy. It is human 2 grieve & it is a process....surround yourselves w/ positive people & if you are not saved, please consider giving your life 2 the Lord. I am SO very sorry 4 your loss. God bless you.
