LUCASVILLE, Ohio (WSAZ) -- More than $52,000 in cash is now in the hands of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers say they confiscated the money, which was in two vacuum sealed bags, after making a traffic stop in Scioto County. A set of scales with marijuana residue on them was also found.
Troopers say George Fortson III was stopped just after midnight Saturday on US 23 in the Lucasville area. Fortson is from Detroit, Michigan.
Fortson has been charged with drug abuse and drug paraphernalia. He is in the Scioto County Jail.

Even if they did legalize pot, which in some ways I am for this man still should have been arrested.I completely respect the other side of the aisle on this issue, but to me busting people with small amounts and introducing them to the system is wrong.Alcohol kills more than any drug, but it is ok to sell.I would bet people bashing pot have the occasional beer or mixed drink.I have mixed feelings about this issue.I would not want my kid to fall in love with weed, but at the same time the reality is that if he wants to when he is older, he prob will.I would rather him get it from a store than a dealer.I have been to the Netherlands, and this is a non-issue there.Usage did not go up,and people aren't walking around blowing smoke in your face.I have no doubt that business owners in Amsterdam want no trouble with the law,so they check id's.Just like going to a bar around here.Maybe it would actually bring down teen usage some.

Something needs to be done to stop the flow of drug dealers from Detroit. They are like cockroaches spreading everywhere. You step on one, and there are 10 more coming out of the walls. This is getting rather ridiculous. Detroit has to be a safer city, because all of their dealers are in our area! Now we hear that they are cutting the budget for the HPD. How stupid is that? What is wrong with your thinking there? We need to do something fast to get rid of these vermin. If it takes the citizens to all start 'packin' then so be it. these dealers are nothing but a lazy, disgusting bunch of worthless crap, and a waste of good air. Someone needs to take all of the trash out soon.
