HUNTINGTON, W.VA (WSAZ) -- The eastbound lanes of I-64 have reopened in the Huntington area following a three-car crash Monday morning.

The crash happened around 6:15 a.m. near the 4.5 mile marker; that is between the West 17th Street and Kenova exits

Police say a driver in the westbound lanes fell asleep and rear-ended another vehicle. That sent both vehicles across the median and into the eastbound lanes.

No injuries were reported. The lanes reopened around 7:55 a.m.

I am the driver the caused this wreck, and a cell phone absolutely did NOT cause this. I've learned too many times not to use my phone while driving. I was tired and I had get to work or I wouldn't have even been on the road!

I drive 64 back and forth from Ashland to Barboursville daily...each time I see distracted drivers drifting out of their lanes yapping on their phones and texting, with summer constr. season in full swing more needless deaths will occur from carelessness. Pls pay attention out there and slow down, a moment of distraction can end in a senseless tragedy.
