WINFIELD, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man who is accused of shooting and killing a woman over a text message was back in court Wednesday.

Jesse Cossin pleaded not guilty in the shooting death of Angela Casto. The incident happened at a home in Red House in February 2009.

Investigators say Cossin shot Casto and her fiance Nicholas Hanshaw. Hanshaw was seriously hurt but has since recovered from his injuries.

Police say Cossin became upset over a text message he received from Casto, and that is what sparked the shooting.

Cossin's trial is set for August in Putnam County.

Try him. If you convict him, then put him to death. You make the decision to do the crime. You intentionally take a life, then you deserve to die...Who can responsibly argue with that argument??? Bill
