CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Sarah Palin has her sights set on 20 democratic seats in the House of Representatives. She thinks republicans can win this election. Two of those seats are in West Virginia.
Palin posted the list on her Facebook page. She targets Representative Nick Rahall, a democrat in West Virginia's 3rd Congressional district, and Alan Mollohan, a democrat in the state's 1st Congressional District.
The two representatives voted for the health care bill, but represent areas that Palin and John McCain won in 2008. Palin says these areas could be an opportunity for republicans in the upcoming election.
"Her influence in pointing the national spotlight toward West Virginia is going to be huge," Troy Berman, Executive Director of the West Virginia Republican Party, says.
During the controversial debate over the health care bill republicans told democrats they would pay for their votes come election time.
Berman says his office has seen a huge swell in support from people in West Virginia after the healthcare bill passed. He says people are upset and ready to take action this election.
Palin's focus on West Virginia could also mean more money for the republicans in those races, but democrats say Palin has no business in West Virginia politics.
"No outsider can come into West Virginia and tell us who to vote for," Pamela Van Horn, Representative Mollohan's campaign manager says. "The only people who have any say are the folks who actually live in the district."
Voters have stood by the incumbents election after election. Rahall has been elected 17 times and Mollohan has been elected 13 times.
Representatives Mollohan and Rahall both say they only voted for the healthcare legislation after an executive order was added to ensure federal funds don't fund abortions.
Berman says he is trying to get Palin to come to West Virginia, but there's no word on if she will yet.
Both Mollohan and Rahall are facing democratic challengers in the May primary election.

It's WV not WVA. Since 1861. And thanks for your continued support and promotion of all these right wing nutcases, it helps sway the independents to the middle. NC is a much better fit for you BTW.
Before bashing Ms. Palin you should first get out of the cocoon most of you are living in. I a native W Virginian now living in NC. Untill you see how the real world is i.e. not the gov taking care of you and doing your thinking for you!; you cannot understand what is really going on. Try switching to Fox News to hear the reality of life in the U.S.A. Lose the liberal democratic mentality of socialistic tendencies. Arise!. Use your mind its the only thing WVA's government isn't able to control. Sarah Palin is probably our salvation as a country to reverse all the idiotic policies of WVa's and the National government. Oh; and remember WVA, who did you vote for last election?.. The annoited one wants to eliminate your core industry; Mining.
